EXPERIENCE SUMMARY
As a Maine Certified Geologist and
Registered Environmental Property Assessor I work for various
environmental consulting firms and private clients on environmental
investigations. These projects involve leaking underground storage tank
(LUST), commercial, industrial and landfill sites. I conduct
Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), geological and hydrogeological
investigations and assist in development of remedial action plans for
contaminated sites. I also work on geotechnical engineering projects,
performing construction quality assurance (CQA) and construction
materials inspection.
WORK HISTORY
Senior Consulting Geologist, Chesterville, ME, 1995-present. I research, perform field reconnaissance and write reports on environmental geology projects. These projects include Phase I ESAs, wellhead protection plans, groundwater exploration projects, LUST and landfill investigations. I am involved in Phase II soil/bedrock/groundwater sampling, data evaluation and remedial action plans. I assist clients with environmental permits, review of environmental data and the preparation of environmental and hydrogeological reports. I am also involved in diverse geotechnical projects dealing with construction materials testing, seismology for drilling & blasting and CQA for landfill liner installation projects.
Senior Geologist, Dayton, OH, 1993-1995. I conducted Phase I ESAs and Phase II soil and groundwater sampling events at many commercial and industrial facilities in the Midwest US. I worked on extent of soil/groundwater contamination projects at hazardous waste sites. I was involved in implementation of remediation action programs for sites with soil and groundwater contamination from initial investigation to project completion.
Staff Geologist, Geneva, IL, 1992-1993. I was involved in corporate marketing and sales for an environmental and geotechnical drilling company. I performed bid calculations, prepared project proposals, scheduled drilling activities, invoiced and interfaced with various environmental and geotechnical clients. I also authored corporate Health and Safety Plans for drilling on hazardous waste sites.
Staff Hydrogeologist, Jamesburg, NJ, 1991-1992. I was involved in the removal of USTs and closure at UST sites. I installed, developed, sampled and pump tested groundwater monitoring wells. I also operated a portable gas chromatograph (GC) and organic vapor analyzer (OVA) to field test soil and groundwater samples. I worked on NJDEP ECRA sites and followed NJDEP DICAR directives in the remediation of soil and groundwater contaminated sites.
Project Geologist, Vernon Hills, IL, 1990-1991. I attended the 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Health and Safety and Site Coordinator training courses and worked in US EPA Region V doing Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies (RI/FS). This was professional geological work logging environmental boreholes at hazardous waste sites. I performed geotechnical inspection and soil and groundwater sampling for US Post Office and IDOT LUST Sites. I also did geological investigations for WDNR LUST Sites in northern Wisconsin.
Hydrogeologist, Westchester, OH, 1989-1990. I performed various geological investigations at LUST and hazardous Waste Sites in the greater Cincinnati, Ohio Area. I was involved in the logging of soil borings, installation, development and sampling of groundwater monitoring wells at commercial and industrial facilities. I also constructed soil boring and groundwater monitoring well logs and drafted groundwater contour maps.
Project Geologist and Senior Geotechnical Inspector, Cincinnati, OH, 1986-1989. I performed geotechnical borehole logging, concrete, asphalt, soil and membrane inspection for ATEC's Geotechnical Division. I also logged environmental soil borings, conducted UST Closures, performed monitoring well installation and groundwater sampling at various commercial and industrial facilities. I was involved in many diversified environmental and geotechnical projects in the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana
Tri-state Area.
Project Geologist and Senior Soil Inspector, Cincinnati, OH, 1985-1986. I performed soil testing (proctors), surveying and landslide investigations in the greater Cincinnati Area.
