The 1907 Register also listed a G.O. Lord, Sailmaker at 45 High St. and Amos P. Lord at 30 Union Street. Newton Lords son Osborn took over the family business, and was later refered to as Osborns Sail loft.

This ad was placed in the 1907 Belfast Maine Register. It's interesting to see that a sailmaker could now specialize in machine sewn sails. Although a good sailmaker could stitch by hand at what we would consider today a remarkable rate, the machine greatly sped up the production time.
