Schedule of Events

The 15Minute Festival is a celebration of performing and visual arts, featuring performances of winning plays from the Festival's International playwriting competition.

The plays are short -- 15 minutes or less -- original plays submitted by playwrights who answered an international call for scripts this spring. Winners were selected by the Festival's script judges.

The Showcase Performance includes the five winning plays, a special presentation of Mark O'Donnell's 15-minute musical, "A Small Reception," written just for the 15Minute Festival, and a performance by two-time Festival winner Tim Collins. Don't miss this event! Visit our Tickets page to order yours.

We are all creative people working hard to make the world a good place to be for everyone. You might be a creative thinker who volunteers at a shelter or a therapist who secretly wants to win local poetry slams. You might be a playwright who runs a business or a full-time activist who takes great photographs. Perhaps you are a facilitator, coach or manager who is interested in working at a more meaningful and creative level.

In this workshop, we will explore the source of our creative selves and consider the endless possibilities for action that present themselves in our daily lives.

We will use exercises from Augusto Boal's Forum and Image Theater, David Diamond's Theater for Living from the Actor's Institute of NYC, and Viola Spolin's rehearsal games. The workshop will be structured to integrate approaches from Sha'an Mouliert's "Creating Caring Communities" training series, New Freedwoman Project spoken word performance techniques, Anita Arnold's "Moving Injustice" expressive arts therapy approach and Larraine Brown's "C.A.L.L. (Creative Action for Leadership and Life)" training.

Gail Burton is a performance poet and playwright. She grew up in East Harlem NYC and graduated from Radcliffe College. She founded New Freedwoman Project to utilize the power of storytelling, performance and visual art.

Anita Arnold is a psychotherapist, international consultant and Cultural Competency Educator with a specialty in Diversity Issues. She has a private practice and consulting business in Doylestown, PA.

Larraine Brown is the 15Minute Festival co-founder and director and a writer, performer and coach. She created C.A.L.L. (Creative Action for Leadership and Learning) to explore individual expression, group action and leadership.
